Celebrating 10 Years of Blue Bear Waste Services

On September 1st, 2026, Blue Bear Waste Services officially celebrates 10 years in business. What started as a small Denver-area operation has grown into a trusted construction waste hauling partner with expanding teams, a larger fleet, and operations serving both Denver and Phoenix.
September 2016: Getting Started
Blue Bear Waste Services officially opened for business in September 2016 with seven trucks, 350 containers, and eight employees. Our first office was located just north of I-76, between Federal Boulevard and Pecos Street, where the team began building the relationships, service standards, and work ethic that would shape the company’s future.
December 2018: Expanding the Fleet
By December 2018, Blue Bear had expanded to 12 trucks and 500 containers. The company also moved into a new location on West 62nd Avenue, giving the growing team more room to support customers and continue improving daily operations.
2020-2021: Staying Steady Through Uncertainty
Like many businesses, Blue Bear faced new challenges during the pandemic. Through that difficult period, the company successfully navigated uncertainty while retaining all team members, a milestone that reflects the strength and commitment of the entire organization.
2022: Building for the Future
In 2022, Blue Bear entered another period of significant growth. The company acquired a five-acre lot for its future headquarters and continued to invest in additional trucks, containers, and team members to keep pace with customer needs.
June 1, 2024: Opening a New Headquarters
On June 1, 2024, operations began at Blue Bear’s new headquarters. By this point, the company had surpassed 50 employees, grown to 34 roll-off trucks, and expanded to nearly 1,200 containers. The new facility marked a major step forward and helped strengthen Blue Bear Waste Services’ position as a leading construction waste hauling provider in the Denver metro area.
November 2024: Expanding to Phoenix
In November 2024, Blue Bear expanded operations into Phoenix, Arizona, launching with six trucks and a few hundred containers. Four members of the Denver team relocated to Phoenix to help open this new chapter and bring Blue Bear’s service-first approach to another growing market.
2025: Continuing the Momentum
Throughout 2025, Blue Bear’s Phoenix operation continued to flourish, building relationships with new customers and began making a large impact in the Arizona market. The expansion was strengthened by the support of the Denver team, including drivers and team members who traveled to Phoenix to help with operations, share knowledge, and keep momentum moving forward.
September 2026:
Today, Blue Bear has officially surpassed 70 employees, with both Denver and Phoenix operations continuing to grow. As we celebrate 10 years in business, we are proud of how far the company has come and grateful for the employees, customers, and partners who have helped make BBWS a trusted name in construction waste hauling.
“A decade ago, Blue Bear was a humble idea—a small roll-off company built to serve Denver well. I never imagined we’d outgrow that vision so quickly. Today we’re operating across two states, and by next summer we’ll be running more than sixty trucks, backed by a team that’s proven it can push this company forward. Our first ten years proved what’s possible. The next ten will define our legacy. By our twentieth anniversary, I believe Blue Bear will be operating in a dozen or more markets across the country.”—Shaun Hollis, President and Founder
After ten years in, Blue Bear is just getting started. We’ve only scratched the surface of how far we can grow and the positive impact we can continue making for our communities, customers, and team members. Thank you for supporting us along the way.
