Smaller footprint. Safer crews.

Self-Dumping Hopper Rentals for Jobsites & Facilities

When jobsite space is tight and multiple roll-offs aren’t practical, our four-yard self-dumping hoppers go where the trash is, with smaller footprints than standard dumpsters. Built steel-tough for construction, industrial, and commercial projects, our signature Bear Cub trash hoppers hold up to pounds of waste, scrap, and debris.

Move them around your work zone with forklifts and reach trucks to minimize heavy lifting and let gravity do the work at dump time. With forward-tilt hinge mechanisms and reinforced safety features, Bear Cub containers enable smart cleanup and safer crews. That’s the Blue Bear way.

Self-Dumping Hopper FAQs

  • What is the capacity of your forklift hoppers?

Our Bear Cub hoppers hold up to 4 cubic yards and 4,000 pounds of material, depending on the load type. Self-dumping hoppers are ideal for collecting and disposing of bulky items and large material volumes while safeguarding crews from injury.

  • What can I put in my self-dumping hopper?

Self-dumping hoppers are ideal for general construction waste, bulky scrap material, demolition debris, and permitted recyclables. Contact a hometown pro for more details.

  • What can’t I put in my Bear Cub trash hopper?

Some materials aren’t hopper-approved, and it’s not always black and white. Environmental, zoning, and safety regulations complicate matters, but this no-go list serves as a solid starting point. When in doubt, it’s always wise to ask before you toss. That’s what we’re here for. Your local Blue Bear clan walks you through the gray areas, breaks down the rules, and helps you prevent an off-limits toss. Trashing prohibited items can delay your project and lead to legal headaches or costly fines — and that’s no good.

  • Can I stack multiple self-dumping hoppers?

Unfortunately, no. Due to the weight and capacity of 4-yard hopper models, stacking is unsafe.

  • Can I move my trash hopper around the jobsite?

Absolutely! While standard Blue Bear dumpster rentals must remain in place after drop-off, one of the best things about self-dumping hoppers is their adjustable, on-site placement using standard jobsite equipment. Your crew can move hoppers around the work zone using forklifts and empty the containers with the help of gravity, rather than relying on manual material handling.

  • Are there time limits on self-dump trash hopper rentals?

Self-dumping hopper rentals generally range from a few days to a few years. However, it’s our goal to boost your jobsite’s efficiency for however long it takes! Ask a hometown pro about customizing your rental timelines to meet project needs. Bear Cub hoppers are billed at standard monthly rates (plus delivery and pickup fees). Need your hopper for longer? Contact our team for flexible rental times.

  • What is the lead time for ordering and placing my trash hopper?

Forklift hopper placement typically occurs 7 to 14 days after scheduling, but we strive to align with your project timeline. The more notice you give, the easier it is to ensure timely container delivery.

  • What if my Bear Cub hopper is damaged during rental use?

All damages to waste containers must be reported to Blue Bear Waste Services immediately. For more information about liability and potential repair costs, please refer to your rental agreement or contact a Blue Bear team member.

  • How do I prepare my jobsite for hopper drop-off?

Like our other dumpsters and containers, self-dumping hoppers require a flat, hard surface for safe drop-off. Be sure to leave ample space for forklift access when choosing a placement location. Loading and unloading hoppers is the customer’s responsibility, using properly rated forklifts or cranes.
